Notes on Sharing from On Ice Perspectives
Thank you for filming with On Ice Perspectives! It was my pleasure to work with you, and create this wonderful video of your skating. Please read the following tips to have the best experience with sharing your video on social media.
Personal Use only:
Please remember that this video is for personal use only, to promote yourself as a skater, or your coach/choreographer to promote their work too. If a business would like to use On Ice Perspectives footage to promote their brand or product, they will need to contact me and get explicit permission first.
Credit:
Please credit ‘@oniceperspectives’ somewhere in the caption, and tag us too so I can see when you’ve posted!
Music copyright:
Unfortunately every song/video/platform has different rules when it comes to music copyright and posting. Some songs are allowed, some need you to appeal and prove fair use, and some are outright blocked. You’ll have your best chance using Instagram Reels/TikTok/YouTube Shorts as they have agreements with record labels to use many songs for up to 60 seconds (and Instagram Reels goes up to 90 seconds now!).
Vertical vs Square vs Widescreen:
I would greatly appreciate it if the video was left in its original widescreen format when posting, thus keeping the watermark in the corner. Simply allowing Instagram or TikTok to automatically crop the video to vertical or square will lose a lot of the action. If you’d like a short section (up to 60 seconds) of your video specially edited to post in vertical, please contact me, and we can discuss creating a vertical-friendly version of your video complete with a watermark. You are also welcome to make your own creative edits, or remix the footage, but please ask for permission before doing so. I love to see what creative ideas you can come up with!
Last Notes:
My goal with On Ice Perspectives is to increase visibility and appreciation for figure skating by making and publishing the best skating footage I can. I’m entirely self funded and have no outside sponsorships (as of now), besides what I get from donations and through crowd-funding. If you would like to show your appreciation and support On Ice Perspectives, I gratefully accept donations via Venmo, PayPal, and encourage skating fans to sign up for my Patreon, a monthly fundraiser that helps sustain the work that I do, and helps me plan for even bigger and bolder projects in the future.
Thank you, and happy skating!
